Running warm, not hot.
Running warm, not hot.
Granted, it's been hot here in South Carolina and I'm pulling a heavy load with my 95 Ram 3500 diesel, 4 speed auto, with 93k original miles, all stock, but it just seems like the temp gauge is showing the motor getting too warm too fast. It has yet to get too hot- needle in the danger zone- but it's getting close and I'm wondering if that's normal. I'm not sure because I don't remember it getting this warm before. Also, the temp on the HWY is nearly 120 degrees on these days and I'm pulling about 15k pounds at HWY speeds....
If it's not normal then is it prudent maintenance to have a radiator flushed or some kind of maintenance that I've neglected to undertake....
Any ideas?
Thanks

Yea, I can't imagine one running that hot.
I would first blow everything out good to make sure there is no airflow obstruction. Don't know about the 12V, but the 24V it can be an issue.
Also check out to make sure your fan clutch is working.
