Anyone concerned about using rotella t4 in the older trucks? I have used rotella from the first oil change rotella, rotella t and now t4. It is not for the good of these older engines as for as I am concerned. My truck has a 131.000 miles on it and used mostly for pulling 5th wheel RV and running around local. I went to the shell web site and my old 95 wasn't even listed for the kind of oil it needed any more. I was really trying to find some info on this oil.

Don't know about Rotella T4, but I've used Rotella T in my '95 all it's life. 388,000 on the Odo now.

I have always used Rotella or T in my truck to.
I changed my oil in Jan and used the T4 didn't think anything about it until I read a article about ford changing their specs on some of this new oil because of the wear. I don't know which oil or brand but it was for the diesel. Acccording to the service manual it says Api Quality CF4 or CE for our trucks. I looked on the bottle CF4 is not even listed.
I can't find any Rotella or Rotella T. I called several Auto Supply stores and Walmart all they had was the T4. Tractor Supply said they had it in their brand which was rotella and it had not been changed yet. The Rotella T does have the The CF4 rating.
Maybe I'am just overly concern

CI-4+ is/was the best oil for the 12 valve engines. If you don't mind dropping the money Amsoil still makes it.....excellent product but triple the cost of DELO or Rotella products. I only use it in an older gen set and skid steer, both get around 100 hrs/year with very high engine replacement costs.
