Rear end swap on a 98 3500 DRW

Hello all, my 98 single cab DRW 3500 12v 5 speed broke down AGAIN for the 2nd time this month since I have owned it, first the clutch now the rear with only 112,000 miles on it,.
I found a local rear end out of a 94 dodge ram 2wd 3500 DRW 12v that is a 4:10 Posi not the lower 350 gear I have now.....will this work ? I plan on using the rear leaf springs as well....

if your truck is 2wd it'll work. what happened to your rear axle? might want to look into it. might be an ez fix.

Could be as simple as replacing the spider gear assembly, no ? Did they put Powr locs diffs in 94s year model ?

Should work just fine, I too break something every time I drive my CTD (honestly) as I drive it hard and rage rough roads like I do my Toyota, but something always breaks. Today I pulled out my cup holder and it came right out of the dash. Day before that I stomped the Ebrake to help in a tight turn and herd a loud pop, no more ebrake just floats to the floor.

Is your truck a cab and chassis or a pickup? Same question for the donor. If they are different, the axle widths will be very different. If yours is a 4wd, the perches on the axle will have to rotated (or shimmed). Oil pans are also different between the 2wd and 4wd. Lastly, I wouldn't trade 3.55's for 4.10's unless all you do is towing.

The oil pans for the 12V motors are different 2wd to 4x4?

I usually only work on 4x4...but that is news to me.
