Rear end questions

So I have a 97 Dodge Ram 3500 2wd and it has the 4.10 gears in it, and I hate them. I’m pushing it hard just to go 75mph. Anyways I have a guy that has a dually rear end out of a 92 Cummins with the 3:54 gears and I was just wondering it would work fine on my 97?

Also if I was to find a rear end off of a 4x4 would it still work?

The first gen is narrower and has 21/2 inch spring perches and yours is 3 inch, also you have drums you can remove without raking the hub off and the first gens do not.

As for the 4x4 rear, as long as it was a dually it will work just fine.

1st gen rear is a Dana/Spicer 70 and yours should be a Dana /Spicer 80. Lots of differences.
