181 Dv's installed in 160 pump

Edit: Just installed the 181's and didnt see any copper washers, so all went well. The 181's sure woke the little 160pump up some. The turbo spools faster, and lights harder than before. I chirped my tires in 3rd on accident
when normally they would just grip the whole way, so that told me somthin.
Got some extra smoke, if i'm just cruising and stab 1/2 throttle i get a nice puff, use to have to smash 3/4 throttle to get some. Egt's didnt really change at all, im happy with that $125 bucks spent.

I bought some used 181 dv's which should be here any day, and I read the piers instructions for installing dv's and saw my 160 might have those copper washer things in each dv. Do I leave those in with the 181 dv's or do I discard the copper washers and just throw in the 181's and reassemble?

The piers instructions seem ok, anyone got any easy tips for a smooth install?

The way I understand it you leave them out, however I am not a expert by any meens. Carefull not to scratch the bore with the pick when fishing them out.

How long did it take you? and what tools besides a pick did you need. I may be doing them this weekend depending on what my schedule is.

It took me 2 hours because I was in the sun just taking my time, lol. U don't need a pick, I used needle nose pliers to lift the two pieces of the dvs out one at a time. A magnet would be even easier. Just go one DV at a time and close it back up before u goto the next one. And make sure u keep everything clean because on my last DV I thought I was almost done and this pretty good size paint chip fell into the dv so I had to take it out to clean that, I put small paper towels on each injector and dv so nothing got in. Read piers instructions for the specifics but it went smooth and priming the lines again is easy doing it how they say to.

Honestly the hardest part was getting the fuel lines off the injectors and back on again because the area is real tight around each one and I was using a crecent wrench.

Special DV socket
3/4" open end wrench (I used a small crecent wrench)
10mm socket
7/16 deep socket or wrench - for the intake boot
Torque wrench
neede nose pliers - to take out the dv's.

Let me know how those 370's work out once u put them in, i think injectors are up next for me. Or maybe a built auto and 3.54's, lol....
