Pyro problem and boost surprise

I installed used Isspro gauges today. As always, I got what I paid for. $50 on Ebay was hard to pass up, but now my Pyro does not work, it just reads 80 degrees. The probe was worn, right at the tip it looked a little mashed and I could see brass coloring, like the surface metal had been worn down. On top of that, there was a section of the wire right at the end of the braided metal section (8" or so after the probe) that had been taped up. A big wad of electrical tape with something kinda squishy inside.
Anybody want to wager on which one is the problem? I will see if Isspro will sell me just a probe, or probe and line.

Also, I can make 35 PSI of boost, if I have it in 5th, put my foot in the fuel pump and hold it there. 3rd gets me almost 30 PSI, 4th and 5th get 32 if I just accelerate like I'm passing somebody. Only mods I have are a 4" straight pipe, BHAF, and the guy before moved the fuel plate all the way up. Timing has not been changed (coming soon). As I understand it, I should only be able to make 25 PSI or so. Does this mean my wastegate is already plugged? I'm not going to complain about 35 PSI, just want to know.
Thanks

ISSPRO Adjustable Thermocouple

Try here- the prices seem more reasonable.

With boost in the 30's, the wastegate is plugged off.

The pyro sounds like it was dragged behind a bus. A new lead and probe should fix it.

Well, I'm going to check it all over on Saturday, try soldering the wire, check the gauge and all before I order new parts. Thanks for the info.
I guess if the wastegate is already plugged, I can't complain.

your not gonna want to solder the wire.Thermocouples are very sensitive to repairs

The gauge works now. I didn't touch a thing except I moved the wire/probe connection. Just a loose connection.
