Plate forward ?

Got my guages installed and the KDP is pinned, so I'm thinking it's time to slide fuel plate forward. I havn't taken it apart yet, how far can it move (.001") and what is a good starting point or just go all the way at once ? And what's with that goofy screw, is that to prevent tampering for emissions or something ? Removing it doesn't look too difficult, just curious. If I do decide to change to another plate do the others slide forward and back to adjust them too ? Thanks, John

Lots of room to slide the plate around. Be sure to mark your zero point though, so when you get a TST plate you will have the zero to start with.
Have fun with the tamper proof breakoff screw. Mine wouldn't come out for love nor money. Cut off the head and replaced it.
I think you'll like it when you go to the TST plate and boost elbow. Much better than the stock plate moved.

Bill

Get a tst plate and put it in. Mine was already full forward from the factory so I waisted my time taking it apart to adjust you will be much more satisfied with the higher hp plate. Matt

Make sure when you go to slide the plate you use a good machinists square or it will mess you all up [yuk].I made that mistake when I did mine and ended up re-doing the D#$@ thing 3 times >:(. Also, depending on how many miles your truck has on it (probabloy quite a few since your in the 12v link ;)) you may need to get your valves adjusted because youve probably got quite a bit of valve lash and it will make your truck very sluggish under about 1500rpm. Hope this helps and I think youll be pretty happy with the few extra horses you get out of the plate, for a while ;), but BEWARE BOMBING IS ADDICTIVE!!!!
Wheels
