p pump linkage

The bellcrank that holds throtle link to the pivot onpump came off my thuck last night. 25miles home at idle. I found the bolt that holds it to the lever of the ppump missing. I used a metric bolt I had in tool box Guestion is do I need abolt with a sholder to get the right torque so it won't come off again.
ps if Bill reads this it fixed my cruse control problem, it must have been the loose linkage. Thanks D.C.

I am thinking you are referring to the bracket that attaches to the pump's throttle shaft. If so, I have seen those bolts fall out before. I don't think the bracket's holes are slotted, so regular bin-bolts should be OK to use. There are 2 M6 bolts holding that on, and I usually use a bit of Loctite on the threads.

Agreed...use Loctite. I'd use blue Loctite. It will hold great and you can remove the bolt again with some effort if you have to service something. Red Loctite will require either a gorrilla to loosen(more probably break the head off the bolt) or a lot of heat. Neither of which I think you would want applied to a bolt that threads to the pump.
