I just bent the center bolt of my puller trying to get the gear loose so I could advance my timing. Yes it was a cheap puller but how hard is that gear stuck on there. Yes I have the nut loose and gear cover off to fix a oil leak. My timing is set at 13.5 and I was trying to advance it to 16 or 16.5 it is a 180pump.

 

Load up the puller as tight as you can go, then give it a whack with a dead blow hammer from the side.

 

I tried light taps with a regular hammer in hopes the vibration would brake it loose. After I get another bolt for the puller I'll try that. I was not hitting it from the side or that hard and this time use a dead blow. Thanks !!!
