Need Tranny Help Please!!!!!
 

I have a 92 and my speedometer quit working and now it wont shift into overdrive. Is this a coincidence or is this the reson why? Is there a quick fix like a lock up switch? Any and all suggestions and/or help is appreciated. Thanks

Check the sensor in your tail shaft housing. Do you have a Check Engine Light on?and yes you can bypass it w a od switch and a lock up switch. but i wud venture to say you have a sensor problem. pull it out make sure the little plastic wheel is still in tact. mark the sensor before you remove it because it is a clocked sensor if its installed incorrectly it wont read either

Its a vehicle speed sensor there about sixty bucks at napa, this is a pretty common problem in the first gens. Its located on your transfer case on the passanger side
