Need some help with part numbers ??

Today I changed the pre-filter screen...... it was pretty clean!
While I was down there removing the bowl, I noticed that the two wires inside a plastic/rubber boot type deal, going into the top front of the pre-filter assembly, looked like they were "cooked". When I touched them to check it out, the boot disintegrated :o
It looks like it can be removed with a couple torx screws and then unplug a couple wire connnectors. Does anybody know what this is called or what the part number for it wire harness is?
I went to the Dodge dealer and tried to explain, but I'm sure you know what the outcome was!:(
Also...I'm going to hopefully do the KDP and was thinking it would be a good time to replace the water pump. I was hoping somebody could also give me that part number as well.
Thanks Guys !!!!
Todd

I believe that cooked piece is a temp sending unit. The whole wiring harness is available from Cummins, part # 3843722-S. One thing to watch out for is the pins on the pre-heater element might start sucking air once you remove the fried wiring harness. Mine did. You can get the element at Cummins too, part # 3907766-S. I paid about $90CAN for both.

If you mean the harness that goes into the fuel heater/pre screen assembly, Here goes.
Fuel heater element cable harness.
Fleetguard part# 3843722-S

Water pump Cummins part#3802357
This is for 12 valve trucks.

Rich
If you give me your email adress, i'll give you the file with all the part #s for just about everything you could ever need.

Thanks for the info guys.......
Is it alright to still drive the truck with the fried harness?
I sure hope so!

If just the wires are fried no problem. If the element is also fried it may start leaking and cause hard starts.
Here's the source I use for part numbers http://www.onlinemoparparts.com/moparonline.htm

For your '98 many part numbers are here-
