it has been a few years since I lurked around here. I used to own a 93 4x4 dually. Im back with a new rig and i need some guidance from those "who have been there"

I am the owner and builder of 1993 Thomas Allstar bus...converted to 1993 tailgater/motorhome/man cave/dog house. Ity weighs 22710 lbs. It has a 5.9 Cummins with about 140000 miles on it.

Problems/issues.

Rear main oil leak(coming from fly wheel cover drain AT565 trans)

Possibly front seal as well but could be anywhere. I cant see where its from. Are there any problem spots on the front of the motor that may be the culprit?

There is a bit of smoke on start up but nothing significant(greyish blue)

I am not sure if the turbo is working because I cannot hear it. Any way to verify this?

I believe it is governed in some way via linkage. I have not looked at that yet. Perhaps someone here is more familiar with that sort of thing. It cruises about 60-65 with the pedal pegged. The rpms are unknown because the guage doesnt work, nor do the dash lights. Im going to search for ground fault when I get a chance.

The gas mileage is a whopping 7.5mpg! I sure would like to improve this. Perhaps its related to the turbo????

I believe your turbo is working.

When i blew the intake gasket on my truck It would blow LOTS of black soot while accelerating with a small load compared to you.
