manual transmission fluid
for my 95 manual transmission, will mobil-1 or other synthetics work as well as the mopar fluid?

i use mobil-1 in my automatic. you just have to make sure it has the right viscosity for a manuel trans.

Redline MTL is a good choice, it really improved the shifting in my clunky ol' Getrag.

I wouldn't use the Mobil-1.
I have it in my truck, which shifted fine when I got it, but after about 10,000mi I changed all the drivetrain fluids, and replaced with mobil-1 75W-90 synthetic. A friend of mine, only runs the mopar oil in the tranny, and his shifts so much better than mine. He tried the mobil 1, but after he thought his syncros were going out, (86,000 mi) he changed to mopar. 3 days later, it shifts perfect again. I don't know about the Redline, but I may try Amsoil, as I know a distributor for the stuff.:D Chris |
