blew my bottom rad. hose, pegged temp guage, now it knocks. any ideas??

 

Potentially scored cylinder wall(s) and main and con rod bearing issues due to overheat and oil breakdown. Draining oil and checking for filings is probably the best place to start.

Any knock = bad = $$$$, most likely no easy fix.
