ok so i just put some new injectors in my truck, one of them is leaking and another is making a ticking sound. my question is what will cause the injector to leak and how can i fix it? at first i thought it was the drain manifold but everything is tight and it looks like it is leaking from the threads on the injector. also i found where the ticking sound is coming from, its on the inector line where it threads on to the top of the injector, i disconnected it and retightened it and it is still makin that sound. it goes along with the idle of the motor along with a puff of smoke or fuel or something i can see. anyone know what this is or causes this? thanks

 

A piece of grit must be in the surface connection between the injector line end and the injector body.. To me it sounds like its leaking there and no matter how hard you tighten it, it will leak. I would pull the line right off the injector and inspect/clean it. The tick might be the jet of fuel getting by.

 

If they came from Pensacola it could be your problem.

 

haha no ive heard bad things about those. they are bosch injectors. im going to order a new injector for the one thats leaking. the other one that is making the ticking sound has got me puzzled. i checked the injector line that goes on to the injector and cleaned it. but it is still making that sound. if i put my hand over it i can feel a puff everytime it fires. anybody know anything about this?

 

Might be a bad sealing washer and blowing compression/combustion gasses out the injector passage.

 

ok so tonight i took everything off and checked it. turns out i didnt tighten one the injectors all the way into the head. guess i got a little excited and rushed everything so the ticking is gone now. thanks for the help guys
