Well here we go,

october 4th 2009:

I was hauling a load of logs for my father with his 97 2500 5 speed.
I had the trailer loaded poorly (no toungue weight )
I was going down a pretty rough road but I was going a slow speed. Car was in my lane I panic braked and swerved.
Trailer fishtaled and I got her straightened out but it was too late,

I had run out of road. Smack dead center into a tree.
Then the trailer pushed the *** end of the truck and it sideswiped another tree.
hitch broke and trailer+ logs went over the bank into a creek.

So, about a year and a half later. I sold my second gen auto truck, got a first gen and some cash. Dad found an 03 QCLB 6 speed cummins and he offered the wrecked on to me.

Heres the deal. Im buying it for $7000. he is paying for all parts for me to rebuild. we already have a frame hood bed bumper and some other small parts.

I gave him $3000 so the truck is mine now i will make payments as i get the money but I plan to build this truck to suit me the way I want.

I hope to be able to document the whole thing through here and maybe get advice as I go. I knew my 96 cummins inside and out so I know a bit about the 2nd gens.

I want to paint the frame IH red and the body this charcoal color, Whaddya think?

I forgot to mention I hopped outta that truck and with the exception of a few choice words I have not even a scratch.

looks like a project,glad your alright i think you will like my truck take a look...

and i dont mean to hijack just i did somewhat of the same thing and went with kind of the same look so if u got any questions i can somewhat be of some help, but otherwise good luck with it lots of work but so so worth it in the end.

it needs a flat bed on it!!! so much more versatility with a flat bed. not to mention they last longer
