I used the tst kit, came with directions, all went great. I also purchased a new gasket from the local Cummins dist. (1/2 the cost of the dealer) preffered to only do this once with no leaks.

Cummins quit using a gasket in about '99.
Goop only will work.

Yes sealant will work, if you are carefull the gasket can be reused also, but not needed. Goodluck,,Rick

Yep!.. I bought a new gasket from Cummins and if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have bought the new gasket (it is a stamped steel core with rubber coating on both sides).
The old one that came out looked exactly like the new one just with a little Rotella on it.
I would have taken the old one and cleaned it up with degreaser and smeared the sooper-dooper grey silicone supplied in the TST kit.

Oh, do yourself a favor, if you go back with the gasket(new or old) and grey silicone, get two longer metric bolts and cut off the heads and thread these into the accessory case bolt holes top and bottom to initially help align the gasket and cover plate while covered in silicone. I did it without it and did just fine... The thought occurred to me as I was getting it lined up and starting the capscrews.
Others have recommended this little trick too.
