Just saying thankyou!
Just saying thankyou!
After 11 years of starting right up, every single time, I needed someone to drive my truck about one mile.
He calls me on the radio and says "what's the trick."
Since I've never had a problem and the truck ran fine getting where it was I figured it was probably the fuel shutoff solenoid, I wasn't even sure where it was.
Sure enough, right off the bat after turning the ignition on I am able to lift the solenoid and it stays engaged- truck starts right up.
Okay, bad solenoid.
Stop at NAPA, don't have one can't even give a price.
On the way home I call Dodge, they don't have one but if they did it would be $504.
Stop at a big truck yard, they don't have one but might be able to get it on Monday- $240.
Come home, check the web $150-230. But there is mention of a relay?
After searching the threads I gain valuable information about the blue wire attached to the battery.
I got nothing to lose, and again- sure enough it is nothing more than a corroded wire-starts right up.
So, while I won't send anyone the money I saved I will certainly offer up a heartfelt THANKYOU to those that posted the information that saved me a bundle.
Thanks again,
Peter
