Just A Note OF Thanks!
Just A Note OF Thanks!
This is my 3rd anniversary of owning my 98 Dodge 12V diesel. It has 81,363 miles on it and I have kept it running and made several impeovements to it thanks to this web site.I have used many of Infidel's "how to's" and tips.
This is my list so far:
1.Bought trk with 67,958 miles-8/18/05
2.Line X spray in bedliner installed-9/14/05
3.Rebuilt starter solenoid with "super contacts"-71,081 miles -4/24/06
Foster Truck
4.Tabbed KDP & installed new frnt crankshaft seal-74,488 miles -10/24/06
TST Kit
5.Installed a fuel press. gage-76,767 miles -6/7/07
Per Infidel's instructions
6.Chg'd auto trans fluid & filter & installed a drain plug-76,777 miles-6/11/07
NAPA
7.Cleaned preheater screen - 6/15/07
8.Installed new overflow valve-77,736 miles-8/16/07
Precision Diesel
9.New pads on frnt calipers & lubed pins-77,750 miles-8/09/07
NAPA
10.Installed new Bilstein shocks-80,499 miles-5/22/08
allshocks.com
11.Installed Chevy 1 ton wheel cylinders-81,363 miles-9/08/08
NAPA
12.Somewhere along the way I stopped a water leak on the back window and stopped a rattle behind the glove box.
I always wanted to try a diesel but was afraid of the different tech stuff as I have owned gassers all my life. But after "reading up" on this site [diesels in general & 12V's & 24V's] and seeing how you guys help each other, I got enough nerve to give it a try, and I'm glad I did.
I really like my truck and that's saying a lot with $4/gal fuel.
So I'm raising a frosted glass to you guys and saying THANKS AGAIN!Keep up the good work!

I wish my truck was that low on milage. Had mine around 3 years myself and have racked up around 50k miles. During that time the truck was parked for 8 months while I was in Iraq and I lived 2 miles from work for 6 months. Old girl should roll 279k miles this weekend. I to owe alot of thanks to Infidel and several others for the wealth of knowledge on here.
Although I am very new here I would like to second the thanks to Infidel for extremely solid tech advice on several threads.
New fuel level sending unit yesterday along with repairs to the in-tank assembly. Once again, very solid advice from Infidel. It's nice to know how much is in the tank.
