Installing Ball Joints (having problem with axle hitting ball joint bolt)

I have installed new ball joints in my 97 2500 4WD. These are Moog ball joints. After putting everything back together, I have found that the axle where the universal joint is, hits the top of the bolt and nut where the lower ball joint is mounted. Am I doing something wrong? I have checked the parts to make sure I have the right ones and have veryfied that i have. Please help, because I am stranded. Thanks
Stacey

Are you talking about the grease fitting on the upper ball joint? If so just go to a parts store and grease fitting thats made as a 90 not one that has adapters to make a 90. And that should clear your universals.
