injector failure
injector failure
I was reading in another thread, how a guy hada huge black plume of smoke, and determined an injector had blown.
2 winters ago, I had an out of no where black bomb of smoke. I was on the express way at the time, accelerating about 70 mph. It was middle of winter, so about 25 degrees out. I ended up having a filter gel up and had some issues with that.
But since, no issues that I have noticed, truck does not seem to be limping or otherwise acting irradically.
I have to assume that if i dropped an injector i would know about it right?

Like Bill said, you would know it right away if you had a bad injector.
Your little puff of smoke was probably some soot in the exhaust pipes breaking loose.
I had the tip of one break off a few months ago, smoke, boy did it smoke and miss and pop and carry on.
