Idle slipping
I've adjusted my idle twice now and after 2 weeks it seems to slip back to where it was. It seems to drop real low when outside temperatures are high too. Any ideas?
Thanks

Have you checked fuel pressure or changed fuel filter lately? When my lift pump was weak it would exaggerate the lower idle when hot. I've been running powerservice too regularly and haven't had as much of a problem with it.

Infidel, I'll take a look tomorrow and check on those return springs. I don't believe they are missing or broken though since when I adjusted the idle just recently they were good.
Gorms, I actually just changed the fuel filter and pre filter 2 weeks ago right before I adjusted the idle. It was idling so low that I thought that's what my problem was. I only have 55,000 miles on it so I'm hoping its not a lift pump issue.
Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.

My 12v also idles low when hot, never figured it out. its happy at 40-80F anything above or below that cause a 200rpm idle decrease. If I adjusted it for 600rpm when hot, it would idle way to fast when at normal temp and slammed the crap out of the trans when I drop it into gear. SO I just keep it at the 300RPM barley running stalling when I let off the pedal quick idle that it seems to enjoy

My return springs are both connected and working well. Is it possible that the locknut on the idle adjustment is loosening somehow? Maybe there should be another nut on there to lock it into place. I'm also going to try some diesel Kleen to see if it helps.
Thanks
