I Need a Lift Pump

My lift pump is leaking. I see them on ebay for $25-$40, but Geno's Garage has one for $115, while Larry B has one for $141.90. Geno's and Larry B include the M8 by 1.25 by 55 mm studs.

Anybody have any input?

I paid a premium at the Cummins dealer. Came in a box that said "made in China" under the Cummins logo. Genos is a Cummins pump.

Works fine, but disappointing, none the less

Its a crap shoot, imo

By the way, the Dorman # for the correct M8 x 1.25 pitch x 55 mm long metric studs is Dorman #675-335 About $2.50 each at O'Reilly's.

The 3936316 is a smaller 26mm piston pump & fine for a stock or mild fueled engine. The new genuine Cummins 4988747 made in China pump (yes, Cummins has been making them in China for years now & is a very good pump) is a 30mm piston pump and will flow more fuel and support more power than the 3936316 pump. Just make sure if anyone is buying a lift pump these days it says " Cummins ABFJV - Made in China” cast into the pump, as there is many knock offs out there.

Thanks for the info Mark. Mine is stock/mild fueled, so its fine I bet. I've had other stock lift pumps on it and they worked well also.

Hey, Mark, how long has Cummins been putting out those 4988747 pumps? Reason I ask is, I installed a piston LP, bought from my local Cummins, back around 2008 or so, and that thing, with a new fuel filter, shows around 18 psi on my fuel pressure gage at idle. I've got a second one stashed as back up, bought around the same time. I'm going to check that part number.

It’s been years now that Cummins went with their own built in China vs the Carter ones, but not that long for you to buy one in 2008, you must have a different part # because the 4988747 puts out 22-25psi at off idle & 28-32psi at 2000rpm.
