How do you make a valet switch?
All I did was run tubing (air brake hose) from the supply (off the manifold) into the cab where I put a needle valve. From there I ran the tube up to the Afc. Now I basicly have an in cab ajustable star wheel. I can cut air off fully and run in full valet, crack it open just right so I get no smoke, or open it up fully and lay out the black cloud.
crankbender,
Thats a pretty good idea. A little more tubing, but still effective. Some guys just put a ball valve in the tube from the AFC to the intake manifold and lift the hood every time they want to flip it.

I had wanted to put in a regulator to be able to limit the air pressure going to the AFC. This would effectivly give an in cab adjustable plate (throttle stop) while the needle valve would controll the rate (like the star wheel) the diaphram moved forwards.
There was one guy on here that put in the regulator. Can't remember who but I sure would like to hear how it worked.

On mine I also put a bleed off valve on to try and "make" a regulator. It worked but was very hard to get set up and I could never get it exactly how I wanted it. I gave up on it and simply use the throttle valve now.
