has anyone dealt with ECU Exchange? West Palm Beach FL
Looking into getting our PCM rebuilt. 1996 Dodge 3500, 4x4, the truck in signature line. Had to completely rebuild auto trans after the DTT meltdown (see other threads for details of the debacle https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...-think-317131/ ).
Truck is currently in shop. Had ALL servos plus their internal to trans case harnesses replaced. Another $500 out the window, truck is still a three speed w/no OD.
Shop's best guess (looking at codes thrown and consulting with their electronics gurus) is that "computer has failed"..... well, that figures. Not really up for laying out a grand for a rebuilt from Dodge PCM Direct | ECM,ECU,ECC,TCM,Engine Control Units. Husband is in a FOUL mood over this.
Looking for other options. I have experienced a spine meltdown (ie, looking at surgery coming up fast) so cannot do a whole lot of this wrenching stuff now.
SEnding our PCM in for a rebuild and reflash sounds like a plan??? I see this ECU Exchange outfit selling rebuilts on ebay for reasonable cost, as well as offering their mail-in and rebuild service with a 24 hour turnaround for what seems to be cheap, given what we have sunk into this stupid truck already.
If anybody has good or bad experience with this outfit, OR with any other source, would love to hear about it!
