Fellas,

What does this have to do with? Cant even find it in the owners manual, truck seems to run fine, start fine, and everything, light just came on last nite on drive home.. Ideas fellas?

What the the volts gauge read? Is it discharging? Are you getting a fault code? Are the lights dim or dimming? Kevin

 

Volt gauge is well above normal, it isnt discharging, it starts very well, and the lights are not really dimming, they are older and need replacing but they dont dim, i was thinkin generator maybe? is what it stands for? but im lost on this one..

Take Alt off and have it tested.

Prob. the diodes going south.

I had the same prob. gen lite would come on sometimes and volt meter was fine charging was fine I thought but it got really slow at charging.

Rebuilt Alt and all is good.
It needed brushes also.
