Fuel shut off solenoid fell apart

my fuel shut off solenoid came apart. The snap ring that holds the plunger in the cylinder wore out, and the brass plunger is also worn. When activated, it pulls out and i manually push it up and I'm "on the road again". So I leave my truck running a lot. can I get a new snap ring? or JB weld it in there? or ???????????? Should I buy a new one?
Thanks

Just put a PTO cable on the lever and don't worry about it. They are too expensive to replace IMO.

Fixed it

I fixed my fuel shut off solenoid with JB weld, 2 zip ties, a hose clamp and a bicycle inner tube as a new boot. It works perfect. I will just have to remember to set aside money because someday it may take a dive again.

Carl,

Where are you mounting the bracket for the cable. On my '95, I have a long choke cable mounted, but it is a straight pull for the cable and my wife can't pull it. I can barely pull it.

The ideal would be to mount a lever that would get some leverage, but I can't find anyplace on the block or other stuff there to mount it on.
