fuel problem

alright, i'll try to keep this as short as possible. i've had fuel pressure problems on this truck since i baught it. I change out the overflow valve, didn't help. I changed out the fuel lines, didn't help. changed out fuel filter multiple times didn't help. the truck runs fairly rough, not horrible, but just not as smooth as it should. it has plenty of power, i just recently ran it on the dyno and got 338 hp and 748 ft lbs of torque, but that's running with the afc housing empty(no plate) and the smoke screw all the way forward. I don't get very much smoke either, only if i dump the throttle before the turbo is spooled up. when i did put a temporary pressure guage on there, it was kind of hard to take a reading but it was around 13 psi at idle and jumped around too much at wot to get a reading. i'm leaning towards getting a new lift pump but just want some opinions before i throw down 150 bucks. egts wont go over 800 degrees no matter how much i mash the throttle which is very low for the upgrades i have. thanks in advance guys.

Sounds like the lift pump is not putting out like it should. 13 PSI of pressure @ idle is too low.

Have you ever cleaned the fuel pre-filter strainer?

If the heater strainer was pretty dirty it could mean the strainer in the tank is also.
