Front range shop recomendations?
Front range shop recomendations?
Hey there! I've been reading on here fro a long time, but now it is time to post.
I have a1995 2500, regular cab auto trans that I got with 37k on it, in 2008
and now has 134k. Other then oil changes and usual repairs, it is still stock. Well, it has a K&N filter, bigger injectors and bumped plate(? I think that's right).
Anyway, I am need of some repairs and wondered if anyone here can recommend a shop/ individual in the Front Range (Colorado) to work on it. I need; Valves/ timing adjusted, KDP, basic tune up on engine etc. Whatever it needs, runs fine now.
I ALSO need transmission work. Not sure exactly what is going on with it, but it seems to be slipping in 1st, mostly when it's cold. I haven't done a filter and flush in awhile, so I guess that would be 1st
.
I am not against going to a private individual/ forum member for repairs. I could do some of the work, I am sure, but I don't have a shop to work in, or any experience with diesels, as this is my first. I'd rather pay someone who knows these trucks inside and out (racer/ dyno types).
I am in the mountains outside Boulder (in the flood zone, but above the worst of it) and will be needing my truck a lot soon, both for towing my Bobcat, and for snow(I don't plow with it) but can go anywhere from Ft Collins to Denver if the right shop comes along.

Can't help you with a local shop, but ATS is right in your backyard for the trans work, Hate to say it, but swallow hard and only do it once..........You don't have to get stupid and billet everything, but make sure you at least get their good towing trans and converter.
