Four systems quit all at once. Need Help. Thanks

I have a dodge 2500 5.9 12 v 1998. I drove it, parked it for 2 days and when I started it to go home from my cottage the tachometer, overdrive, cruise control and charging system all had stop working. Have tested all fuse that I know of, and replaced alternator with a new one and all 4 problems still are dead. Help.

Engine speed sensor? I think I've had a similar problem and some damage wires to that sensor was the cause.

As Andy says, for some reason your engine speed sensor signal is not getting to the PCM, so the truck does not know it is running, thus it says you don't need OD/Charging/Cruise/AC.......

Anyway, start at the harmonic balancer, the sensor just left of center at the top, first check the wiring up to the connector, take the connector apart and clean with contact cleaner and re-assemble.

Also, look around to see if mice or squirrels decided they wanted to adopt a new home while you were at the cottage......
