foaming at #1 injector

foaming at #1 injector

I have a slight miss that can hardly be heard have't to lisren close to hear it.So I cracked some injector lines to check for air all is good except for #1 it wouls just foam and spit, no spray. Also engine pitch changed every time I cracked a line except when I cracked #1, BAD INJECTOR please confirm. Thanks

take it out and have it "pop" tested.

usually, if you have a skip and you crack each one individually (like you did) it will point you to the trouble. if the "pop" test comes back good, you know it's either fuel delivery (pump/line) or a mechanical problem like valves etc.

start with fuel delivery.

Can they pop test at a dealership or should I take it somewhere else. By the way haw much does a pop test cost?

most diesel shops should have a test stand. you would have to look up the specs on your injectors. a buddy of mine has a diesel shop and he would let me test 'em for the bubble.

depends, probably like $40 for one maybe $100 for all 6.

if you buy the new injector from them, maybe free?

As long as they don't have to remove it my local John Deere dealer pop tests for $5 per injector. They can also rebuild them most times for less than $100.
