Flex a lite fans and Air conditioning
Flex a lite fans and Air conditioning
I installed my Flex a Lite fans and electric water pump. All went well except My fans come on all the time when the key is forward. I checked the signal from the AC wire i tapped into that runs to the compressor. The wire i tapped into has power all the time? What would cause the compressor to have power all the time even when HVAC is shut off? With it set like this I cant adjust my variable speed controller as the fans are on 100% all the time! Ill be getting my Scheid pump this week and want to get it all adjusted in! Thinking of taking AC out all together.

Hey buddy, glad to see you back on the website again.
Luke, my buddy just put in a "Flex-a-Lite" Fan System in his 06' Dodge and it does not stay on all the time like you said yours is doing. Something has to be messed up in the wiring somehwere. Do a search here on the "Flex-a-Lite"
Fan System and see if you can find anything the Members can help you out with.
Let me know how you like it as I have been thinking about putting one on my 96'.

Hey
Hey John thanks for the reply. Im searching through threads right now trying to find someone with a similar problem. My fans Stay on all the time. I spliced into the power wire going to the compressor and it has power all the time when the key comes on. Even when everything is switched off. Ill give you call later on in the week and let you know how they work!

The AC clutch may be ground switched. It might take some thinking to turn that ground switched signal into a hot switched signal for the fans. I have used a relay in the past to do the job. Or you may be able to tap into the other AC wire and get it to work.
