First mod--no more xfer binding!
 

Performed my first mod last nite. I carry a pretty heavy camper and will also pull a 1500# boat. In order to back up my driveway without burning the clutch, I needed to go into granny Low range--in reverse. But, I've read about binding up the xfer case in the process--no slippage on the driveway to keep the ends in sync. So, I purchased an electro- pneumatic selanoid swith. (Orderable from Northwest Pneumatics 503-620-5670 ) The switch and a couple of 1/4 NPT plugs and two barbs were $40.60 <br>I placed it in the only hose going to the xfer case (fwd) and the switch will stop the vacuum and NOT allow the fwd xfer case to go into either 4 wheel HI or LO. The switch also will not allow the vacuum to escape either. Anyway, works like a charm. The switch to operate the pneumatic switch is a toggle that turns on a red light. That way, now that the 4WD light (that won't come on with the red light on) can be temporarily replaced with that RED reminder light. If you need a pic........Any questions..let me know.<br><br>TJ
