I bought a ‘93 not too long ago that has a 47rh swapped into it. Originally it had a Getrag in it, but the P. I. had a bad knee so he couldn’t push the clutch in. So obviously the truck didn’t have the coolers on it so the P.O. put a cooler drivers front corner of under the bed with I’m guessing 10” fan on it. There is no thermostat on it that I know of so the fan goes 24/7 unless I turn it off with the manual switch set up for it. My question is will that cooler keep the transmission under 200 degrees or do I need to add a frame rail mounted cooler or something? I don’t really want to put anything in front of the radiator and Intercooler as not to block air flow,but I don’t want to toast the transmission either. I plan to swap the 47rh out for a nv4500 either when the rh pukes or I just get tired of it and have the money to do the swap. I know I need to get gauges, but I’m waiting for it to get back from the shop from having some tuning done and figure out the fuel shut off solenoid. Any help would be appreciated!

Man, I just yanked the 47rh and swapped in an NV4500. There was a cooler between the turbo and the block (big round can) which has engine coolant running through it, and a small cooler in front of the intercooler (about 15" x 10" if IIRC).
