Installing speedy sleeve on front crankshaft
I'm going to be installing a wear sleeve and the new seal this weekend. I'm familiar with removing the fan, timing case cover, etc from the time I checked the KDP. Just looking for any advice on ways to install the sleeve. Is this a relatively easy job?

I believe you can change the depth of the seal position in the timing cover so as to have the seal ride on a unworn/damaged portion of the crankshaft. Good luck!

Iron City, Get some longer bolts ( the same thread as your damper bolts ) Use the damper to push the sleeve on the crank. Al ternate turning the bolts in to keep the damper square with the sleeve. Worked real well for me. Thanks Steve B

go to your local cummins shop and buy the tool, it installs the sleeve and the seal at the same time. I've done this several times and each time after I have purchased the tool, used it and returned it they have refunded my money--I believe the price was about 120 dollars

Now that I think about it some more, it is only the rear that you install the sleeve and seal at the same time, but cummins still has the tool for the front also. It just installs the sleeve and sets the depth, then you install the seal sepearately into the front cover.

seal install
Just remember to coat the outside of the seal with loctite sealer and dont put anything on the inside of the seal except to make sure it is oil free to allow it to break in clean.
