Donor 5 speed truck.....What wires to get to make it plug n play?
I have access to a 2wd 5 speed truck that I got all my 5 speed conversion stuff out of. I didn't get the wiring....didn't think about it when I picked the stuff up.
So, what wiring can I get to make it a factory plug and play and not have to cut up my wires?
I'd like to make it look factory if I can.

So you're saying that I'd have to get the entire wiring harness?
Aren't there some jumpers and other related wiring that I can get from the donor truck?

From what I've seen all trucks are wired the same, some use some connectors some don't. Other than the back-up lt switch and speedo sensor, what wires do you need?

About the only things I can think of is you'll need the the clutch safety switch (if you want one) and you'll have to jump the auto tranny wires together that keep it from starting in gear.

The clutch safety switch wiring is made into the clutch master cylinder setup.
You have to do some wiring to make the cruise control work and you also need to splice in a reverse light plug so it will plug into the reverse sensor.
Was just tryin to do a good job, but I can deal with some wiring.

Just swapped mine a month ago what I did was there was a wire on the transmission that I had to ground to get it to start then I swapped the computer. Then i spliced in the plug for the backup lights to the wiring at the transmission. Everything works even the cruise. The wiring for the clutch is under the dash just remove the plug and plug in the clutch.

If you want the cruise to work you have to swap the computer or there is a way to wire in a relay to make it work but I had the computer and it is easier to swap then doing some wireing.

I just bought the 5 speed computer and cut the reverse plug-in off the donor truck.
So with this computer I don't have to wire in the relay for the cruise...correct? The relay wiring is what I am trying to avoid.

The tranny on a '95 isn't entirely mechanical. OD lockup is controlled by the PCM which uses inputs from the TPS, tranny temp, OD off switch and brake light to allow lockup.

That is exactly what I did the wire colors from the backup lights are the same so all you have to do is match them up and then run a ground to one of the other wires so it will start. I cannot remember what color that wire was but if you need me to I will take a look and see which one it is. Matt
