does anybody know.......
i have an LMC catalog which is great for alot of stuff but im wondering is there an aftermarket mfg'er of throttle cable and other misc odds and ends for under the hood?
yeah thats what i was thinkin. finally got to look at it today and found my throttle cable isnt pulling the throttle lever all the way thats part of my shifting problem i think. pretty sure its stretched along with being frayed. and also im missing a return spring for the throttle valve in the back of the pump. i think i can come up w that at OREILYS
Has your truck had the cable recall done?
You can have it done for free if not.
You can check here, you will need your VIN

No expiration, number of owners or miles on a recall.
Recalls are good for the life of the truck.
A warning though, the recall kits have been hard to come by for some dealers.
Make sure they have the kit in hand before you give them your truck and they half way tear into it then tell you it will be a month for the parts.
If your truck hasn't had throttle cable recall done my bet is there are a lot of recalls that haven't been done.

well ive known about the t cable since my first assessment of the truck b4 buying it. driving on borrowed time here at the moment. i stopped by the dealer the other day and they said it takes 1 of 2 possible cables and they had both in stock so i hope the kit consist of just a cable. they said my cost of the cable was around $74 worst case scenario. so if i can save $74 that makes this guy rather happy

So that would mean using the same jacket and feeding the new cable through? then crimping the ball in place ! I have been looking for a cable since I replace mine two years ago and I know it was more than $74.00
No crimping needed.

Here's a link to an older thread with some info and another link you might find interesting. I entered the kit number and found 5 locations that are suppose to have it. All were under $16. I don't know if the info is good but you might want to give them a call if you need one.

Thanks A bunch. I will be taking a long trip in two years acrost Canada and want to have a few parts along for the ride. Just ordered the CanZ kit from my dealer and he told me that is the number for the recall kit. $18.00 for me and only two aviable here .Now I have a spare.
If the cable didn't come with instructions here you go> http://dodgeram.info/tsb/recalls/970/repair.htm
As I recall to use the improved cable you need more than just the cable.
