Did my truck come out without a cattalytic converter?
Hey guys. I have heard that some early 94 trucks came out without a cat converter. Everything I can find (sticker in the cab where the door shuts, and a sticker on the door) say my truck was built 1/94. Does this mean It didnt have a cat stock, or what? Just curious. I dont have any problem with police, but in Ky, I think a turbo is considered a muffling device, and if I didnt have a cat converter stock, then seems to me if i ever did get pulled over for it, there is nothing they can do[laugh] Im just curious though. Thanks

it came with one, the 94 models that have a build date of late 93 didn't have a cat.

I'm not sure when they started the 94 model year...but I know that the 95 model started rolling off the line in July 1994.
That tells me yours would be the first MONTH for cat's...but like I said, I don't know for sure. Does it say anything about "emissions" devices on the door stickers?? Chris ON EDIT!!! What Gunracer said...I was a little slower than he was:D |
EPA regulations required all CTD trucks manufactured after Jan 1 1994 be equipped with a cat.
To not have one your truck would've had to be built in '93 |
What Infidel said.....CTD's that were built before Jan. 1st/94 were non-catalyst. My 94 had a build date of Dec 93 and was kittyless.

Thanks guys. Thats all i wanted to know. I was just curious. Mine seems to be missing its kitty anyway.:D

Yeah, for some reason, those kitty's don't like the noise these trucks make after the muffler falls off[laugh]
