Isn't it nice to change a water pump that doesn't have every accessory on the front of the motor hanging off it?

What's the normal service life of a water pump? Is the ~250 about right?

Mine TU'd at 367,000, but I don't know for sure if it was the original. It looked like it. It kindly died right in my driveway right after I fired up to check something else. Quick trip to Napa and $60 later I was back in business. Worst part was the PITA stopcock on the radiator.

From the lools of the pump with nothing hanging off of it .I would think 200k would not be uncommon. all you would half to do is change your coolant once a year

My pump went at 166K. I will admit I have not been ontop of doing coolant changes, when I should have.

I agree- easiest water pump I've done!

Isn't that irony, they make it easy to change and it practically lasts forever.

Skeeter, I think once every other year would be more than sufficient.

Thanks for the input.
