cracked cylinder head-exhaust brake.

A friend of mine with a 96 Dodge has his head off. The machine shop tells him he has cracks in the head. From my understanding the cracks are from the nozzle to the exhaust valve. The machineshop said it is because he uses his exhaust brake too long. [duhhh]
Seems a bit far fetched but it could be possible.
Any input would be great.

uh, no. the exhaust brake at max backpressure only produces 60psi. that is why on the older trucks, you have to change valve springs so that they stay closed with that backpressure. With combustion pressures near 1000 psi, there is no way that an e brake cracked the head.
