I'm looking for a ball park idea on what a trany rebuild could cost. I removed my original auto tranny to install a 5 speed. BOTH are in need of repair. that auto slipped, shifted wierd and other things. the 5 speed sounds like bearings are going bad. As the truck is 11 years old with 135k miles spending the least $$$ possible is my goal. At this point I dont care whattrranny is in it so long as it holds together!


i tried a trany shop near me but they wouldnt rebuild the auto because it wasnt in the truck. they siad it was because of the computer controlled o/d. I thinkit was to gouge me $$ to remove it. he said the 5 speed sometimes end up being paper weights.
