cold weather injector leak???
cold weather injector leak???
This past weekend I went up to my parents house in VA. I left SC in 75 degree weather and ended up in 15 degree VA weather. While I was in VA the truck had a slight audible miss when running below 2000 RPM. If full throttle was givin it cleared right up so I ruled out gelling. I also noticed my EGTs were about 100degrees warmer during this episode. When I pulled in I popped the hood and found seepage around the #5 injector. No massive leak. Holiday weekend and all the diesel shops were closed so I made the 400 mile return trip home. Once the weather warmed up the leak went away! Truck ran good and still shows 1/2 a tank of fuel so the MPG is right on or slightly improved. No leak after driving back and forth to work all week. Is it possible that the seals are contracting and only leaking when its below 20 degrees? Seems strange to me to say the least. What do ya'll think?
