Cleaning TPS
#2
Waste of time in my opinion...if you saw the inside of one you would see that if it helped at all it would likely be temporary. Replace it and be happy you are done messing with it

I had issues with the connector on my TPS. I sprayed it with contact cleaner, blew it out with air, and carefully tightened up the barrels with a small screwdriver. It's been good for a couple of years.

Thanks Pat. I Just checked mine. There is a slight amount of play in the TPS bracket/shaft but not nearly as much as in the video. Never the less it's something I should probably do. Do you know where I can get the parts? Cummins? Larry B?

To your original question, years ago when I first got the truck, it was exhibiting the hunting and in-and-out of OD problem. I cleaned the TPS with electrical parts cleaner spray, and it solved those problems for quite awhile. After I resurrected the truck last Fall, in the colder weather, it displayed those problems again, until the engine & trans warmed up. I was going to clean it again this Spring, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Good to know there are other options like the delete kit and bushing replacement.
