Caster question

Ok I have a question. I have stock drive line on my truck and I got my ball joints fixed and then aligned when I asked to have the caster set at 3.5 so that I could stop having the DW the mechanic said he would look and see what he could do. When I picked up the truck today I asked if he got the caster set to 3.5 or what degree he got it to and he said not to much father because of the drive line on the front. I am wanting to know if this is true or did he just not want to deal with my truck anymore. I only have a 3 inch leveling kit. Thanks guys
