Brakes fixed, Special Thanks to MEvins & Cedar City Diesel!

Took my truck to Meacham & his Partner "Corn" this morning. Threw the keys at 'em and said "FIX IT!"

Corn & Meacham went through the whole truck till they finally found my problem. The Front Right wheel bearing was TOAST! It was allowing the caliper to lean and lose all braking ability.

Put a new one on and MAN I GOT BRAKES! :o

Thanks Cedar City Diesel for getting my truck in and out so I can pull this weekend!:D

I should have thought of that when I first saw the thread - it has been awhile but that has happened to me on my old 78 PowerWagon. The hub hammered out the bearing race (undersized it about 5 thou) and the assembly would wobble and knock back the piston. The trick was to hit brakes to stand everything upright then let off and brake again - the first pulse got everything to tighten up and get slack out of caliper and the second pulse clamped the rotor.

If you think about it a caliper only moves about .100" to work. If the wobble knocks it back more than that then it may not have enough fluid to move the piston to allow it ot clamp properly.

Glad you got the issue resolved.
