Question boost & temp question

Got my truck running TODAY. Basically I swapped a 160 HP 883 pump for a rebuilt 215 HP 913 pump and had them put in 191 delivery valves. And I installed DDP stage 2 50 HP injectors. I also installed a 4 inch Diamond Eye exhaust system and Gauges.

My turbo is a WH1C if it matters.

My first question is I do not show any boost pressure. When should I see even moderate boost pressure? I used the fwd hole in the side intake manifold to install fitting for boost gauge as suggested by infidel.

would the lack of boost pressure have something to do with my high exhaust temp that I am experiencing? Even with moderate acceleration to highway speeds it quickly climbs to 1200+ degrees with no load on the truck.

When starting my truck I have to give a little foot pedal for it to start. The Idle is a little low right now and sometimes it lopes slightly at idle.

check for a cracked broken hose or loose clamp on your inter cooler piping. i had the wh1c and made 32 psi i have my gauge piped into the same spot.
if yer hearin the turbo you should see boost. also check the gauge hose.....just fer giggles.

new gage and i did a pressure test of intercooler system (pressurized inlet of compressor to 35 psi) while i was putting truck back together. one time i did see about 4 lbs boost and it would not repeat.

There is a kink in your boost line - check right behind the gauge - I bet its there.

I always run the small boost hose though a 1/4" hose to protect it and keep it from kinking.
Once it kinks it's hard to keep it from doing it again.
The 1/4" hose I use is just drip irrigation hose from the hardware store, $4 for 50 feet.

Red face i need to Apologize

hey john i apologize
i didnt hear a leak when i tried to pressure test system. but i cant hear anyway lol.
so today i tried blocking off line to boost actuator still no boost. took turbo off thinking maybe bleed is stuck open. it wasnt so i went back and double checked every thing and found the loose clamp that i missed and did not tighten . boost is still blocked and i can get up to 20 psi accelerating to 60 mph. what suprised me is there is no boost pressure showing under normal circumstances. all this is new to me since i just put in gauges; i ran all the nylon lines inside 5/32 vacuum hose for abrasion protection when i installed them.

Engine needs to be under load to develop boost.
If you're testing it when the vehicle isn't moving there will be very little to no boost on the gauge.

no need to apologize..... i took no offense at all. where you will see the most boost is in a hard pull, if empty truck just does not have to work that hard so it don't fuel that hard.
