I run Texas Refinery Corp Moly XL Pro-Spec Semi Synthetic 15W40. It's some real good stuff...I've never seen an oil with a TBN this high, mines about 16.8! The stuff even has 3% moly content. They also offer free oil analysis of their oil so I always know what's going on inside my engine. They also tell you when to change it. I always change the filter at 5000 miles, but right now the oil has 18,000+ on it and its still good to go. It costs a bit more up front, but the extended drain intervals make up for it, and so does the free analysis!

I always have used Valvoline Premium Blue, Autozone or Murray's occasionaly runs good sales on it and I stock up. Synthetic oil is nice but with all the soot that you get in diesel oil, I never thought it was worth runnin it unless you had a aftermarket filter setup. They say the soot in diesel engine oil is a big killer and though the oil may not break down, the soot that accumulates is the bad part.

My sending unit was working just fine with over 500k when I managed to break it while removing the pwr steer/vac pump
