bent push rod, other damage?

While putting the rocker assembly together on the #6 cylinder on my truck the 2nd to last push rod didnt fall all the way into place. While tightening the head bolt it bent the push rod. do you guys think I damaged anything else? I found this out because the motor wouldnt turn over to adjust the valves so I checked the pushrods.

I would just check the ball on the rocker pedistal that sits in the top of the pushrod tube. Other then that get a new rod and button her up.

Yeah, less than $3 for a replacement from Cummins.

This is common on the B and C series...the pushrod feels like its seated but its not. The pushrod is the weak link and will bend before anything else gets damaged. Check everything out....but you'll be ok. Ive seen it happen a bunch of times....you know the deal, its 2:00am....tech wants to go home and a pushrod gets bent.[laugh]

I know that this is a kida off subject, but i was adjusting valves on my truck and after i got them all adjusted right i went to torque the lock nut at 18 ftlb's and busted that adjusting screw right off. flush with the rocker.[verymad]. would that bend a pushrod, breaking it off like that.?
