Been wanting to ask this for a while: Hard pedal?

With the truck off if I press the go pedal down, I can feel a hard spot - is that the governor arm riding the plate?

With the truck running, no hard spot that I can feel...

When the shut off lever is down (off), it holds the gov arm back. What you are feeling is your foot overcoming the springs inside and it kind of bypasses, if you will. If you take the AFC and plate off, look in the top as you move the throttle with the shut off lever down, you will see what I am talking about.

That's the opposite of what mine does....it has a hard spot when the truck running.

Would gutting the AFC get rid of this?
