anyone have an idea of a range?
its been suggested that the pump come off and be bench tested.
just trying to prepare myself for how hard ill have to bite down on the wooden spoon handle when they take my wallet from my pants pocket.

so im being told R&R alone is lke $600. Then another $2000 to rebuild the pump. im only talking timing it and adjusting idle etc.
I told the guy to hold off, does this seem way above reasonable?

 

Well for over 2 grand you better get more then timing and an idle adjustment. Just curious why you need the pump to be "bench tested"? For more power or performance issues? 175k is relatively low miles for a p-pump.

 

Just had mine done by BD diesel for $1500, had it set-up for my #6 plate, and 15 degree timing. What a world of difference it has made.

 

it had a 3gsk put it, it made the idle act all wacky. for all i know it was the cable to the trans out of spec. either way, just to adjust the idle and set up the gov springs that is what they are telling me. i didnt think it sounded right either. thats why i told them to stop before doing anything. the truck starts and runs, so i think its a case of trying to upsell me.
